Urge the United Nations to help end all forms of violence in schools

The Issue

No child in the world should be afraid to attend school because of the threat of sexual abuse, corporal punishment, or bullying.

Join me in asking the United Nations to stop violence against children in schools worldwide.

School: It's one place where all children should feel safe.

But I just watched this video about the horrific violence children face in school. It tells the story of a girl who was forced to endure sexual abuse from her teacher in exchange for tuition and a boy who was violently kicked to the ground as a punishment for not wearing his uniform.

350 million children suffer violence in schools each year. Will you help me stand up against this abuse?

We are urging the United Nations to encourage every country to:

Work with non-governmental organizations and governments to establish data-collection systems so that we can better understand the severity of violence in schools;

Work with teachers and education authorities to develop and implement plans of action for achieving violence-free schools;

and Establish a procedure for children to report violent incidents.

Protecting children from sexual abuse, corporal punishment and bullying should be a global priority. Plan is integrating programs to prevent school violence into our education and child protection projects, and we are working with governments, teachers, parents, and educational authorities to implement plans of action to end violence in schools.

But we need your help to ask the United Nations to demand that every country takes steps to achieve violence-free schools.

Watch the video and ask the United Nations to stop violence against children in schools worldwide!

Thank you for taking action!
