Help urge Chicago, Illinois, the 3rd largest city in the U.S. to adopt glass recycling and curb side recycling in ALL of the city!
Recycle Glass and Open Curb Side Recycling
URGENT REQUEST
As a concerned citizen, I am requesting that Chicago, the 3rd largest city in the U.S. adopt a few opportunities that ALREADY exist in EVERY top 10 cities in the U.S., except Chicago.
Please recycle glass and allow ALL of Chicago the opportunity to curb side recycling for public schools, residential households, public buildings and business, etc.
A few critical facts to keep in mind:
1. Recycling 1 ton of aluminum cans conserves the equivalent of 1,665 gallons of gasoline
2. Each person creates about 4.7 pounds of waste every single day, or more.
3. If we put all of the solid waste collected in the U.S. in a line of average garbage trucks, that line of trucks could cross the country, extending from New York City to Los Angeles, more than 100 times.
4. The total volume of solid waste produced in the U.S. each year is equal to the weight of more than 5,600 Nimitz Class air craft carriers, 247,000 space shuttles, or 2.3 million Boeing 747 jumbo jets.
It's time to protect OUR community, environment, constituents and budget.
Please act immediately, every day we wait and waste, is hundreds of pounds of garbage!
