'LOVE IS SOMETHING THAT WE CAN ALL BELIEVE IN, IT HAS NO BORDERS, IT CROSSES ROOF TOPS, HOUSES, OCEANS, COUNTRIES AND CULTURES'. Equal Rights Supporter
Please support the passing of the Uniting American Families Act and lets urge an Executive order. Please read the letter and watch the video to get a real understanding of what same-sex bi-national couples endure under current legislation. Our families are broken; we are separated and often sent into exile.
The Uniting American Families Act will ONLY give us the right to sponsor our partners for immigration. This is just one of the, over 1,000 federal rights we are currently denied. Please push UAFA - whether you agree or disagree with marriage, so we can atleast be united with our families and loved ones.
PLEASE SUPPORT US, INVITE FRIENDS AND SIGN THE PETITION, IT WILL REACH MANY PEOPLE (SEE THE LIST OF WHO IT WILL HIT)
- Lets make this happen; so we can be with our families and partners without fear.
- Lets make this happen; for friends and other bi-national same sex couples so they can return home.
- Lets make this happen; to remove the discrimination that exists in immigration for future generations.
The time is now - we need to speak up and educate people on UAFA and have them support the passing of this crucial piece of legislation. Please talk to your friends, tell family, scream it down the streets! we need to get UAFA out there. The US government needs to realise that this is wrong and un-American to separate a family. Enough is enough, we need to stand up and speak up.

EXECUTIVE ORDER: REUNITE OUR FAMILIES - The Uniting American Families Act
Dear Representative
I am writing this letter as an American and as a supporter of the LGBT community. I ask you to push towards the passing of the Uniting American Families Act and work towards the signing of an Executive Order to wipe the current discrimination that permanent same-sex families face in the US immigration system.
There are families, including my own that are currently suffering and struggling with the worst kind of pain, separation and not being able to be together because of the existing legislation that clearly discriminates the LGBT community from being able to sponsor their partners for immigration purposes. Many are not pushing the marriage bill; however we ask that you push this bill for it is un-American to have to choose between the countries you love and the partner, fiance, husband or wife you love so much.
It really breaks our heart to read other peoples stories and there is approximately 40,000 same sex partners and spouses all dealing with the same immigration issues. It really is a heart wrenching and traumatic process having to have the one you love leave because time on his / her visa has run out.
Please help us reunite with our loved ones. We would never impose such a cruel act on opposite sex couples if this was an ‘LGBT world'. Our hope will be with the next generation of same-sex couples and hope they do not have to experience such horrible and unjust discrimination. It breaks my heart everyday and I am sorry other Americans also have to endure this pain of separation.
Please support the passing of the Uniting American Families Act and we urge an Executive Order so me and my family can REUNITE immediately.
I hope you understand the importance of this issue to many American bi-National same-sex families. I do realize that this may not be the current priority on your agenda especially with the current economic conditions, but as Martin Luther King Jr. once said "For year now I have heard the word "Wait!". This "Wait" has almost always meant "Never." We must come to see, with one of our distinguished jurists, that "justice too long delayed is justice denied." We have waited many years for our government to treat us with the dignity, respect, and equal treatment under the law just as every opposite sex family is treated; but now the pain grows unbearable, the weight in our chests unimaginable, and our hope and faith in this country has become negligible.
Sincerely,
[Your name]
