On December 22nd 2009, I was arrested by ICE on false charges ( For example booking documents say I am a man). The Immigration Court has since amended some charges, but I still appear as a man. The substance of the matter is the false student database that Weber State University intentionally and knowingly refuses to correct. For these mistakes, they blame a computer "glitch", but instead of arresting the computers, ICE arrests me!
One false information in my student database the University sent to USCIS and other government places is that I was enrolled at WSU in Masters in Criminal Justice in 1999 when this programme was not even installed at the University at that time.
Please demand Weber State University put only true, and precise dates of my class attendance in my student database , and re-issue only true, precise credentials so that I can obtain permissions from USCIS using legitimate documents.
Frankly speaking, how many students go into a hassle like this demanding true credentials from her university before some one says, "hey something is wrong here!".
Is there someone out there who cares about honesty, truth?
A Student Arrested and Deported for Alleged "Computer Glitch": Please Investigate
Greetings,
I am single mother of three children, one of whom I adopted when my sister died in 2001. I came to the United States initially for an LDS conference in 1999 and returned to the US the same year to become a student. My goal was to finish studies sooner than the stipulated study periods so that I would have time to raise my children.
That was a dream.
In fall 2006, I was removed from graduation row for loss of immigration status due to a reason Weber State University staff kept from me for several weeks. Following pressure from local media, the University finally blamed a computer error for my loss of immigration status. Please the most recent media report: http://www.cityweekly.net/utah/article-10955-deportation-glitch.html
Most people who read my story are confused. They say, "her visa was expired, so she must need a new one." When my visa expired, I obtained a new permit that took over from where the visa ended and allowed me to say in the US beyond the time initially permitted in the visa. But this is the permit that was later ruined by my former university.
While attempting to restore my immigration status records kept at the university, the univeristy staff installed wrong data in my records and refused to correct it. For example, they claimed that I enrolled for Masters in Criminal Justice in 1999 when the programme did not exist at WSU at that time. In fact in 1999, I was enrolled in undergraduate studies. For this and several other inconsistencies created by Weber State University Staff, I was arrested by ICE on December 22, 2010. I furnish the following A files that carry most of the contraditions in question: A# 087-635-255 and A# 135-351-969.
Please ask Weber State University, or its overseers to correct my student database which is my immigration record, and ask them to re-issue true and precise documents that I can use to obtain permissions from USCIS. Please demand that Weber State University treat me with the professional integrity reserved for all nationalities enrolled in their university.
In the alternative, please consider creating a new bill that will help me and my family who depend on my files damaged but not by my wrongdoings.
Sincerely,
Victoria Sethunya
