Unilever markets some gruesome brands such as "Fair & Lovely" and "Vaseline Men", which are 'SKIN WHITENING PRODUCTS', to market which, they sell white skin as a desirable state of existence, and to do this, they run down dark skin as undesirable and negative. The advertisement campaigns for these products are so "in your face" that whole nations are going to be affected for generations. They promote and further the social evil of Colour Discrimination. We dont want the world to go back to the days of outright racism. This has to stop!!! The video you see here is just one of the many horrible advertisements that they air on prime time tv repeatedly.
For a multinational corporation laying claim to the title of "The Most Ethical Corporation", in the west, these are highly unethical and vile skeletons in the cupboard (third world).

I am very disgusted, as all right-thinking individuals would be, to note that your subsidiary in India sells badly conceptualised products such as "Fair & Lovely", and "Vaseline for Men", which aim to lighten the color of a dark person's skin. The media campaings are even more vulgar, with the advertisements blatantly telling its audiences that dark skin is undesirable, negative and something that needs to be fixed!! In this age, to have such an openly racist line, and to blatantly display it all around smacks of insensitiveness and crude mercenary tactics and there is nothing ethical about this kind of business.
Your excuse that you are creating culturally relevant products that meet the needs of your consumers in markets around the world, is the most unimaginative! In simple words, you are saying that you would promote, support and exploit social evils world-wide, to suit your profits?? You wish to be termed the "Most Ethical Corporation" in the western world, while you carry out such vile and unethical activities in the third world cocoon?? Shameful!!
We hope you can do the right thing and stop selling such products that require recourse to inciting feelings of inferiority among dark skinned people to sell your product. We hope you can stop this production line for racism right now!
