The TVPRA of 2008 expired on September 30th, 2011. In order to continue funding that provides protection and rehabilitation to human trafficking victims the TVPRA of 2011 needs to be enacted.

This bill helps human trafficking victims in numerous ways. Some of the services that the bill provides for victims are as follows: it creates a department that monitors human trafficking, it provides funding to the FBI to investigate and prosecute cases of human trafficking, and the bill provides funding to the Department of Human Services and non-profit organizations so that they can offer relief to victims including minor victims of human trafficking. The TVPRA of 2011 allows victims to apply for a visa to stay in the United States to seek protection, relief, and restorative services. These are just a few examples of how this bill helps victims of human trafficking.
