A substantial percentage of America's diminishing economy is the result of "already financially struggling" consumers being charged unnecessary monthly maintenance fees by banks simply because they do not have the money to maintain a minimum balance. It is the same principle as a doctor who administers
a treatment upon a patient to render them to become more ill just because the patient is sick.
It simply does not make any sense. In fact these fees create enormous destitute and additional national debt!!
A $10.00 monthly maintenance bank fee could be used to feed 4 people.
In addition these banks, such as SunTrust Bank, blatantly mislead and lie to consumers about FREE checking, later changing their contracts and charging monthly maintenance fees if customers do not have the money to maintain a $500-$1,000 minimum balance.
Congress must recognize that the actions of these banking institutions are unjust and inherent to our country's suffering economy, and pass laws to end the assessment of fees placed upon financially disadvantaged consumers.
End bank monthly maintenance fees on financially disadvantaged.
Greetings,
I just signed the following petition addressed to: Tell Congress to END MONTHLY BANK FEES on FINANCIALLY DISADVANTAGED!.
