The number of women prison are at it's all time high. There are other ways to implement rehabilitation for women then to just put them in jail. Women leave behind  huge responsibilities which are children. Women going to prison doesn't only affect them, but most of all it affect their children.

Dear Representative

I would like to share my thought's about women going to prison. I believe that their are other way's that women can be rehabilitated. I would like for you to look at the bigger picture that when a women goes to prison she also leaves behind her child and/or children. Can you stop and think for a moment what this does to a child. This brings more harm and pain then it actually helps, this is in-justice to the child/children that are being left behind. This also leaves many children to raise themselves and hold anger, rejection, bitterness, and rage within a child. I believe that allowing a women to be able to go through a phase of transitional housing with a intese program in place would not only help the woman but her child/children. I ask that you reconsider the rights and the nature of the crime or crimes that are or have been commited before you just send a women to prison.
