Mother gets 10 years prison time for first time offense of $31 sell of Cannabis in Oklahoma.

Greetings,

Earlier this year, Patricia Marilyn Spottedcrow, an Oklahoma mother of four, was sentenced to 10 years in prison for selling $31 worth of marijuana. While what Ms. Spottedcrow did was illegal, the harsh punishment hardly reflects the severity of the offense, especially for a first time offender convicted of a nonviolent crime.

A sentence modification hearing for Ms. Spottedcrow was canceled by Judge Davis and instead, he reduced her sentence only to 8 years.  This is not justice. She does not belong in jail.

This 8 year sentence still tears apart a family. It leaves a husband without his wife and four children without their mother. It also wastes valuable taxpayer resources to incarcerate someone who does not belong behind bars.

Please sign this petition and demand that Patricia Spottedcrow receive probation and be removed from prison.

Request probation for mother and first time offender who is serving 8 years

Greetings,

I'm writing you today to respectfully ask that you remove the 8 year prison sentence given to Patricia Marilyn Spottedcrow and place her on probation so she may return to her family.

Ms. Spottedcrow, an Oklahoma mother of four, was sentenced to 10 years in prison for selling $31 worth of marijuana. While what Ms. Spottedcrow did was illegal, the harsh punishment hardly reflects the severity of the offense, especially for a first time offender convicted of a nonviolent crime. During her time in prison, she has taken parenting classes and finished her GED. She also attends Alcoholics Anonymous/Narcotics Anonymous.

I ask that a more reasonable and humane punishment such as probation be put in place, which is typical in cases such as these.

This sentence tears apart a family, leaving a husband without his wife and four children without their mother. It also wastes valuable taxpayer resources incarcerating someone who does not belong belong behind bars.

Please, replace this unjust sentence with probation for Ms. Spottedcrow so that she may return to her family.

Thank you for your time.
