The story of Ace, the abused pitbull, was not the first story I heard about mistreatment of animals in this facility. Among the common complaints are: staff members lying to people about the animals and their condition, poor sanitation in kennels, animals obviously in fear of staff members, cruelty towards the animals and (such as in Ace's case) death while attempts at rescue were undergoing or before the animals time was up. These animals deserve the right at life. The right to be treated humanely and the right to a chance to live. Detroit needs to immediately eradicate this facility, implementing humane rules and regulations and properly staffing this facility with people not inclined to abuse the animals held within its walls.
