Let's thank the president for his decision to support gay marriage! It's important to let him know how much this means not only to the GLBTQ community and its straight supporters in the U.S., but also to so many people all over the world. Supporting our cause sets the stage for leaders in the U.S. and in other countries who may be questioning their position on gay rights already, and sends out a message of hope to people everywhere fighting for equality. Barack Obama has taken a huge political risk during an election year for the sake of GLBTQ Americans, and though our community is relatively small, our voice of gratitude should be heard loud and clear by the president, and all the people who helped make his support of gay marriage a reality.
