<p>Pirates have been characterized by Hollywood as swash-buckling trouble-makers that are charismatic, funny and essentially harmless. But, this couldn&rsquo;t be further from the truth. While Jack Sparrow is making you laugh in the movies,<strong> real pirates are sailing across the oceans pillaging, plundering and destroying everything in their path&mdash;fish, pristine habitat and marine mammals. <br /><br />These modern-day pirates turn a blind eye to rules and regulations. They catch whatever they want (including endangered fish) using any means necessary. They use harmful fishing methods that damage marine habitats and that injure or kill turtles and other marine life. <br /><br /></strong>The good news is that we can have a happy ending&mdash;pirate fishing can be stopped and YOU can help. Take action and ask the United States to help shut down the loopholes that pirate use to get their loot to market. <br /><br /><strong>People need to know if the seafood we are purchasing has come from pirate fishers.
