In the last two decades, a federal program has provided 10 million breast and cervical cancer screenings to women who otherwise would have not been able to afford them. But the future of this program, and programs related to other types of adult and pediatric cancer, is at risk.

Right now, the new Super Committee -- formed by Congress to save more than one trillion dollars from future budgets -- will decide what to cut. Cancer research and prevention programs could be on the chopping block -- meaning more pain, more suffering, and more lives lost to cancer.
