Why This Is Important

We hereby petition the Riverside County Board of Supervisors to deny the application of Granite Construction for the proposed Liberty Quarry.

This project will substantially degrade the quality of life thoughout Riverside County.

The proposed quarry will result in significant air quality, noise, traffic and health impacts. The project also has the likelihood of damaging the economic health of Riverside County because of impacts to tourism and agriculture, including viticulture, citrus and avocado industries. The project will also irreparably harm the multimillion dollar investment by San Diego State University in the the Santa Margarita Ecological Reserve, a world research resource. It will also endanger a vital wildlife corridor and a wild river, as well as potentially invalidating the Mutli Species Habitat Conservation Plan (MSHCP). The project will also contribute to existing water shortages and exacerbate global climate change. The proposed Liberty Quarry will also substantially degrade the creation site of the Pechanga Band of Luiseno Indians.

RIVERSIDE COUNTY should NOT become the dumping ground for land uses not wanted by other counties.

Stop the proposed Liberty Quarry

Greetings,

Please let the Riverside County Board of Supervisors know that the residents of Rainbow, Fallbrook and Southwest Riverside County are dedicated to preserving the beautiful, pristine hills and open space in the Temecula, Murrieta and Rainbow area.

The proposed Liberty Quarry project would do irreparable harm to our valley and our way of life. It is the wrong project in the wrong location.

Thank you!
