The Red Cross is always in need of Blood.  All of the blood collected by a Red Cross blood drive is screened and tested.  The Red Cross will not accept Blood from Gay or Lesbian people regardless of whether they are in monogamous and safe sexual situations.  This is discriminatory and needs to change. 

Many queer people, just like straight people, are in monogamous relationshi[ps.  Queer people have safe sex just like straight people.  To discriminate against blood based on the donor's gender limits the Red Cross' ability to have a steady supply of blood.  Since all blood is screened upon donation it is homophobic to refuse all blood donations from Queer people. 

Help the Red Cross and the Canadian Health Ministry re-evaluate their stance on accepting Gay and Lesbian blood donations by signing this petition.
