A commission is considering proposed regulations to allow fracking in the Delaware River Basin, an area that provides drinking water for 15 million people in the Eastern United States.

President Obama's administration has a vote on the commission, and can stop it from setting a terrible precedent to allow fracking. His actions will be felt far and wide as the gas industry is pushing to expand fracking all around the country.

Tell President Obama that, in light of all the dangers associated with fracking, he should be sure the federal government votes against these proposed regulations to allow fracking.

Fracking in Delaware River Basin: Vote NO

Greetings,

I urge the Obama Administration to protect the drinking water supply for 15 million Americans and direct the Delaware River Basin Commission to vote against proposed regulations to allow hydraulic fracturing in the basin.

There have been more than 1,000 documented cases of water contamination near drilling sites around the country. Fracking chemicals are toxic and can leak into drinking water when injected or contaminate water from spills or accidents. Fracking also produces hazardous wastewater, which can contain radioactive substances and toxic chemicals, making disposal difficult and dangerous. The fracking process requires millions of gallons of water, which can deplete local water supplies.

Fracking poses many threats to our drinking water. I ask that the President protect our communities and our environment by supporting a ban on fracking in the Delaware River Basin.

Sincerely,
