Earlier this year, the Outdoor Channel filmed Ted Nugent as he hunted a buck too young to be legally hunted. The episode aired in February on the show Spirit of the Wild.

California Officials investigated this incident and found that the immature deer had been eating bait called C’mere Deer. Baiting wildlife is illegal in California.

Ted Nugent was brought up on 11 charges of poaching, to which he pleaded no contest. He was fined $1,750.

And what happened to his television show? It remains on air. The Outdoor channel airs several other shows on hunting, but the channel also attempt to promote conservation and responsible hunting practices. Ted Nugent has not followed a hunter's code of ethics, and the Outdoor Channel should cancel his show.

Please Cancel Ted Nugent's Show following Poaching Incident

Greetings,

After Ted Nugent pleaded no contest to 11 charges of poaching, he was fined $1,750.

But what will become of his show Spirit of the Wild on the Outdoor Channel?

The Outdoor Channel website writes that they have "always understood the delicate balance between man, wildlife and the environment" and that the core values of the channel are "conservation, outreach, responsibility and education."

There is nothing responsible about poaching. Poachers are the enemies of wildlife, killing animals unlawfully.

Ted Nugent, a poacher, should not be a model for other hunters. I am respectfully asking you to cancel his show Spirit of the Wind.

Thank you.
