Governor-elect John Kasich (R-Ohio) has decided to terminate thousands of potential jobs slated to be created through federally-subsidized passenger train projects.

When Ohio is ranked 41st in unemployment rates, this project can potentially put more than 8,200 people to work.

In the name of "responsibility," this Republican governor-to-be is sacrificing much needed-funding that could be used to revitalize dilapidated neighborhoods. He's being irresponsible by shunning opportunities to put Americans to work.

Tell him to invest in Ohioans by investing in the passenger rail project!

Constituents Are Depending on You, Please Invest in Them

Greetings,

Hello, I would like to first and foremost congratulate you on your recent election victory. I know that the campaign process is arduous and difficult, so the taste of victory must be sweet.

However, I know that one of the many tenets of your campaign platform centered on job creation and economic growth. You have an opportunity sitting at your door step to create over 8,000 jobs through the 3C passenger rail project, yet in the name of "responsibility" you are choosing to reject the proposal.

The study from Amtrak states that this project could help an estimated 480,000 people from your state have access to travel, while also providing much needed funding that could rejuvenate dilapidated urban communities. If job creation and economic growth is truly at the top of your agenda, this infusion of government subsidized money could redeem communities on the brink of desolation.

You have an opportunity to put people to work, empowering them to make a life for themselves, to use their hard earned revenue to boost the local and state economy. Either you take the initiative and bring these opportunities to Ohio, or you will have to answer questions from both the proletariat and the electorate as to why you decided to pass on a golden opportunity.

I wish you the very best in office,

[Your name]
