A Johnny Rockets manager in Kentucky recently forced a breastfeeding woman to either feed her child in the bathroom or leave his store, despite a Kentucky law declaring that women have the right to breastfeed their children in any public or private place. Women have protested the store, but so far Johnny Rockets has yet to issue a public apology or offer any assurance that their stores will no longer defy the law and humiliate breastfeeding women.
Please Promise To Respect The Rights Of Breastfeeding Mothers
Dear Lee Sanders and Johnny Rockets Staff,
A manager at one of your stores in Kentucky recently asked a breastfeeding mother to leave his store or feed her baby in the bathroom. When she informed him that Kentucky has a law that protects the rights of mothers to breastfeed their children in any public or private place, he insisted she go to the bathroom or outside.
This request is humiliating and degrading, and completely flies in the face of CEO Lee Sanders' insistence that Johnny Rockets' restaurants are family-friendly and kid-safe. CEO Sanders has stated that "making sure we cater to kids is key to our business," but apparently he is not interested in ensuring mothers can breastfeed their children and that mothers and their children are not insulted and ordered out of his stores.
If Johnny Rockets is truly a family friendly franchise, than its staff and CEO would obviously respect state laws protecting the rights of mothers, and would promise not to harass breastfeeding mothers at any Johnny Rockets stores. Please ensure that the behavior of this particular Johnny Rockets manager will not be repeated in the future.
Best,
[Your name]
