Iceland continues to hunt whales, despite bans set forth by the International Whaling Commission. The whaling company Hvalur has deep connections with the fishing company HB Grandi. They trade leads on fishing grounds and HB Grandi processes whale meat at their facility.

The wholesalers Warners and T Quality get their fish supply from HB Grandi for resale to restaurants and other retailers across the U.K. and Europe. Consumers who purchase Icelandic cod in stores or fish and chip shops are unknowingly supporting the whaling industry.

Whale and Dolphin Conservation Society wants to educate people on the source of their fish by supplying  a list of companies and their stances on whaling. In order to put pressure on the industry, you can boycott products from companies that are pro-whaling or supplied by HB Grandi.

Additionally, you can send this letter to Warners and T Quality informing them of your intent to boycott them until they adopt an anti-whaling policy and commit to purchasing from sources other than HB Grandi.
