The designer Franc Fernandez took animal cruelty in fashion to a new level by his meat-dress, cut together from slabs of raw meat and recently worn by Lady Gaga at the acceptance of the Video of the Year award at MTV's Video Music Awards.
On why Lady Gaga chose a meat dress, she has said that it was a political statement. The outfit echoed the controversial meat bikini she recently wore for the cover of Vogue Hommes Japan.
The meat dress' designer, Franc Fernandez, has stated: "The dress is indeed real meat from my family butcher. Glad it went so well." The dress was styled by Lady Gaga's stylist, Nicola Formichetti.
Please tell Fernandez and Formichetti that meat is not fashion !

Lady Gaga's VMA Meat Dress
Greetings,
I am contacting you regarding Lady Gaga's VMA dress that was allegedly made out of real meat. I am appalled that you support outdated and blatantly sadistic murder in the name of fashion when so many cruelty-free materials are readily available for artistic fashion. Whether it came from an animal in a slaughterhouse or on a fur farm, every garment that includes animal-products very likely caused an animal tremendous suffering and took away a life.
There is no need to invest in or profit from murder in order to create fashion. Many top designers already refuse to work with animal-products. There are fashionable alternatives that do not involve the slaughter of innocent animals.
I request that you choose compassionate fashion by ending the exploitation of animals.
There is nothing beautiful about cruelty. Please take the cruelty out of fashion.
