Reject Cuts to UNFPA

Dear Representative,

Leadership in the U.S. House of Representative has taken an unprecedented stance to introduce new legislation – a one sentence bill - to permanently prohibit funding from UNFPA. UNFPA provides life-saving services to women, children and families around the world in over 155 countries – more than any other organization in the world. UNFPA works to counter extreme deprivation by ensuring increased access to adequate healthcare, the most basic of human rights.

Elimination of U.S. funding to UNFPA would have a devastating effect on UNFPA’s global health programming. This is not about the deficit or about saving tax payer dollars. This is about the need to act globally to ensure that every step of the way, UNFPA can continue to help women, prevent death, and support healthy families. Continue funding UNFPA in FY2013.
