Show your continued support for the SoftSecond Mortgage

Dear Governor Patrick,

Thank you for your past support of the SoftSecond Mortgage Program, Massachusetts’ most affordable mortgage program available to first time homebuyers. I urge you to show your continued support by funding the program with money in the capital budget as well as the operating budget for fiscal year 2011.

The SoftSecond is the only way many homebuyers will achieve homeownership that is stable and affordable over the long term. We need to preserve the program for families still struggling to achieve the American Dream, and for neighborhoods struggling to recover from the economic downturn.

The SoftSecond has not only put over 13,000 families in homes since 1991, but has also helped keep them in their homes by providing pre-purchase and post purchase education classes, individual counseling, and early delinquency intervention. The program doesn't just help individual families. It also helps neighborhoods by creating stable owner occupants.
