About A.C.T.I.O.N
The Affordable Rental Housing A.C.T.I.O.N. (A Call To Invest in Our Neighborhoods) Campaign is a grassroots effort focused on stimulating investment in affordable rental housing led by a national coalition of cross-industry organizations.
Mission
To revitalize investment in affordable rental housing
The Challenge
Thanks to innovations like the Low-Income Housing Tax Credit (LIHTC) program and other financial tools, millions of affordable apartments have been created – giving thousands of families a safe, decent place to call home. With the weakened economy, investors cutting back their demand for tax credits and scarce capital sources, roughly 60,000 fewer units will be constructed or preserved at a time when the current housing crisis is creating an even greater need for affordable rental housing. It is time for the industry and Congress to restart, expand and develop investment in affordable rental housing for America’s communities.
Goal
To restore the amount of affordable rental housing built, rehabbed and preserved annually for America's communities
