Today, hundreds of millions of taxpayer dollars are wasted enforcing the failed prohibition of marijuana (also known as cannabis.) Currently, marijuana is easier for kids to get than alcohol. Prohibition has created a violent criminal market run by international drug cartels. Police waste valuable resources targeting non-violent marijuana consumers, while thousands of violent crimes go unsolved.

But California has a game-changer on its ballot in November. Proposition 19 would make marijuana available to adults over 21 in California, and would generate much needed revenue by controlling and taxing it. This isn't just about California - Prop. 19 will send a message to the nation and to the world that marijuana prohibition has failed.

Governor Schwarzenegger has publicly opposed Prop. 19, saying, "It would...make California a laughingstock."  

Tell Governor Schwarzenegger there is nothing funny about marijuana prohibition and that the majority of Californians support reasonable marijuana regulation.
