This is a petition targeted at members of the US and state senates who are in position to be able to allocate more resources toward urban schools. Urban schools in this country are failing to provide adequate education, security, and support for their students at an alarming rate. If nothing is done to remedy this problem there will be no hope for the students in urban schools to do better for themselves and fulfil their dreams. We can not continue to turn our backs on these kids, whose intelligence and creativity go to waste because of the environment they are forced to endure in urban areas. Schools should be an outlet where children can learn, grow, and express themselves. They should NOT be agents of social reproduction that perpetuate the cycle of poverty. EVERY child deserves a chance!
