Stop Persing's Ordinance to Shame and Track Convicted Drug Users
Stop Persing's Ordinance to Shame and Track Convicted Drug Users
The Issue
Mayor David Persing has recently proposed an unconstitutional, discriminatory, and irrational ordinance that would try to shame certain people convicted 2 times or more of possession over a certain amount. They want try to shame these people who have served their time by making them display a sign stating they're a drug dealer and track them on a list. This effects all citizens of Sunbury as the signs will effect the property values of others who live nearby. This isn't the first time Persing has wasted the city's time and money on passing unconstitutional ordinances. Please sign this petition to oppose this ordinance.
