In the Faroe Islands it is ritual that you kill a whale or a dolphin to enter adulthood. Dolphins are endangered species like half the animals on our earth. Between 2500 to 3000 of these animals are slaughtered on the coasts of the Faroe Islands annually . These rituals are declining the amount of Dolphins left alive.
The ritual is supposed to be a coming of age event but ending one life to show the progression of another is beyond me. People crowd the coasts to watch as the lives of these innocent animals are painfully brought to an end. The bay turns bright red from the amount of blood. This ritual has been a part of the Faroe traditions for centuries but why not stop now? Why not start a revolution!?
The slaughter of these animals is meant to bring the family together. Kids are even given school off to join in the festivities of slaughtering the dolphins. In pictures you can see kids and adults smiling as they slowly kill these poor animals. Exposing children to this type of violence will only cause more problems then the extinction of these dolphins in the future. By supporting these rituals, you are supporting the slaughter of helpless animals and the corruption of the minds of children. We will be breeding a new generation of animal killers if this continues.
I have put much thought into this subject and I am praying that people will support me in trying to stop these events from happening. The slaughter of dolpins in the Faroe Islands needs to be brought to an end as soon as possible. Let's make a change! Sign this petition and be a contributer to the extinction of these ritual slaughters!
Stop The Ritual Killings In Denmark
Greetings,
I have recently discovered that in the Faroe Islands, there have been ritual killings of endangered dolphins and whales.

I am writing you to ask that you stop this from happening. How long until endangerment becomes extinction? These rituals are to show the coming of age. But how is ending the life of an animal showing the progression of a humans life into adulthood? This ritual is cruel to animals and endangers the existance of the whole species.
Please take into consideration what will happen if these rituals continue. Thank you for your time.
