An article was recently published on UrbanDaddy.com that promoted the "sport" of shark fishing. These charters fish for harmless sharks that are part of our balanced ecosystem. The sharks are killed for a photo opportunity and then just left on the docks or thrown back dead. I want to start a letter writing campaign to force Urban Daddy to retract the article and urge the sport fishing companies to switch to a catch and release method, or kill only for food. Please help support us!
Please don't promote shark killing as a leisure sport
Hello Editor,
We are writing you about your recent "Leisure" article about Sole Man Charters and their Shark Fishing trips. Urban Daddy is very important for promoting recreational activities and it disappoints us to the see the website advertising something that is so damaging to our ecosystem. We are urging you to stop the article and publish a follow up giving the other side of the story. Sharks are not hollywood horrors, but are a very important part of the bay's ecosystem. These harmless sharks are often thrown back dead or left on the docks to rot. Please tell the public if they choose to participate in these charters to use catch and release methods, or to keep the meat for food, and inform potential customers of the damage they may be inflicting.
Sincerely,
[Your name]
