Stop the long distance transport of pigs for slaughter
Live pigs are cruelly shipped for a week or longer from mainland U.S. in cramped containers just to be slaughtered and sold in Hawaii. Misleading labels like “Island Pork,” “Island Produced” and “Island Produced Pork” are often placed on meat and meat products even though the pigs were born and raised in the mainland U.S.
Please contact Times Supermarkets and Foodland Super Market and politely request that they stop selling meat from animals that have been shipped from the mainland.

Nearly all consumers and many sellers of pork in Hawaii are unaware that most pork sold on the island of Oahu comes from animals shipped thousands of miles under inhumane conditions. They don’t realize that their purchasing decisions are contributing to animal suffering.
