STOP THE BAN ON PITBULLS!

The Ban On Pit Bulls.

Greetings,

This is a letter regarding BSL that the Liberals have brought into the province - banning Pit Bulls from Ontario.

This is NOT a letter regarding just the pit Bulls in Ontario,but regarding Pit Bulls EVERTWHERE.

I disagree with BSL because I believe that it is not the breed that causes issues, but the owner, and that judging the breed of a dog is similar to judging a person by their skin color.

I have met pit bulls or have heard of many pit bulls being nothing but kind, loving, and extremely loyal and protective of their owners and families. I understand that there have been attacks from pit bulls, but from recent studies I have seen that they do not even make the top 5 list for dogs most common to attack. The top three were 1) German Shepard, 2) Chow chows, and 3) Golden Retrievers.

If bad owners are using pit bulls as "weapons" now, what is to say they will not simply use another breed when pits are unable to get a hold of?

Also, it is easy to see a majority of people can not tell a pit bull when they see one. Tests have been done (which are also viewable on-line) that so many dogs look alike, and some are mistaken as pits when they are not, taking away even more innocent lives.

It's NOT the dog it's the owner,why should the breed suffer because of irresponsible owners mistakes?

Please look into your Pit Bull legislation again. Ask the people if they agree with the ban, and do further research. Listen to your people and get ideas from them.
