Toreo is not culture, but barbarity

Sincerely,

Respected persons:

"The thinking man must oppose all cruel customs no matter how deeply rooted in tradition or surrounded by a halo. We need a boundless ethic which will include the animals also."

—Albert Schweitzer, physician/Nobel Laureate.

Today's world have a large list of acts of cruelty against living beings, as killing whales, seals, tigers, unborn children... But some of them are still regarded as "culture" by many institutions. Bull-fighting (that in fact is not "fighting" but unfair chasing) is one of the most nefarious custom in many countries. It shows no "humanitarian" concern, and an explicit testimonial of abusive subjugation of a noble animal from a human. Even it is "unequal" in gender, as no female animal is violated, and women are not liked to become "matador".
In the current XXI century, the humankind deserves and must have a more concerned and advanced view of morality and consideration for the beings that share the whole Earth with us. Far ago are the Biblical times, and a lot more science and philosophy have been developed since them, to still keep on regarding animals as "disposable stuff" for our benefit and entertainment.
Economic concerns are in the basement of the building, gaining enough profit with the whole industry of "Toreo". But it is the time to pay more attention to our real role in the world, and provide the respect our world deserves, and our cultivated mind must give.
Hope you keep this in your consideration, and stay on thinking for initiatives to stop this scar in the face of our pride as "superior beings"; this pain to the global soul of humankind.
