The FDIC has been deliberately preventing the continuation of the Landmark Hotel, spending more than $10 million doing so, simply to protect the financial well being of its member banks.
The FDIC has destroyed over 100 jobs in Charlottesville, blighted the Historic Downtown Mall and is making it even harder for businesses during these difficult times.
Meanwhile the FDIC sells off loans for pennies on the dollar to wealthy hedge funds earning the investors in banks like Indymac $1.5 billion in 18 months while costing the federal government, you and me spelled in a now foreign language, a whopping $11 billion!
We can't fix the FDIC but the FDIC can fix our town.
Decision Maker
Greetings,
The FDIC is undermining the economy and the aesthetics of one of America's most important cities, the homes of Presidents Jefferson, Madison and Monroe. The FDIC is undermining the economy, costing possibly hundreds of jobs simply to protect the financial health of banks. Apparently neither the banks or the FDIC are willing to own up to their own failings and are simply pushing the problem on the people of Charlottesville.
We respectfully ask that force the FDIC to take responsible actions in this situation. The FDIC is a vast beauracracy that has lost sight of its charter and their is not their willing to take responsibility for the vast waste that is occuring with this project in plain sight from the gardens of Thomas Jefferson's Monticello.
Please make the FDIC accountable.
