Stop America's Pets from Being Turned Gay

We all know about the threats posed by gay demands for equal marriage rights, or equal rights in adopting children. However, there's a growing homosexual threat that many are not aware of: gays adopting pets.

Even though "science" claims to have proven otherwise, those of us who think with our guts and know that feelings are more important than facts understand that being gay is a choice influenced or even determined by environmental factors. That's why we (justifiably) don't like being around gay people - we know that if we are around them too much, we too run the risk of being turned gay. Similarly, many Christian Conservatives (and we're really the only true Christians) oppose allowing gays to adopt children. Otherwise, gay individuals and couples will adopt heterosexual kids and then proceed to turn them gay too. It's not that we're anti-gay (we "love the sinner but hate the sin"), it's just that we don't want these vulnerable and impressionable kids to be exposed to so much gayness. It's far better that those kids remain in foster homes or orphanages than that that happen to them!

Allowing gay individuals and couples to adopt unwanted pets runs the same risk. Just as human beings can be turned gay through exposure to too much gayness, so can animals (that must be the case, since we refuse to believe that homosexuality occurs in nature). If gays are allowed to adopt pets, then those pets will themselves be turned gay, and those gay pets will then turn other pets gay too, as anyone whose dog has been humped at the dog park can attest. And while it is not yet scientifically proven that human beings can catch gayness from their pets, we suspect that this is true. That risk makes it even more important that the gay pet agenda be nipped in the bud by forbidding pet adoption by gay individuals and couples. (Note that while we're OK with allowing animals to be euthanized if they can't be adopted by straight people, we're against animal birth control and animal abortion.)

We therefore demand that the Federal, state, and local governments pass legislation to defend tradition pet adoption and protect pets from the sexual compulsion that gay pet adoption abets. Animal shelters and adoption agencies receiving public funding, both directly and indirectly (through tax exemptions) must immediately and henceforth certify that they do not allow pet adoption by gay individuals and couples. All pet adopters should also henceforth be required to certify that they are and will remain heterosexual before being allowed to adopt (although in more liberal states, a "don't ask don't tell" policy may be permitted).

Many Congressmen and Senators have taken a position against same-sex marriage and gay adoption, but none have yet taken up the banner against gay pet adoption, which is exactly equal to same-sex marriage and gay adoption in the threat that it poses to society. Religious leaders also seem unaware of this threat. For example, while Bishop Wuerl of the Archdiocese of Washington has spoken out strongly against DC's proposed marriage equality law, in part because he fears that it would not allow local Catholic adoption agencies to discriminate against gay couples, the Archbishop has not yet taken a stance against gay pet adoption.
