Dear Representative

So you wonder why the crime rate is so high in America or maybe in the state you represent.
I was sentenced for a crime thirty years ago and today I can't get a job based on an illogical thought that was carried out. I served my sentence, or paid my debt to society but my sentence has been ongoing since released from prison in the early 90's. What does Congress, Legislatures and U.S. Representatives expect us to do. Your crime rate will always be at a high because you drive ex-felons back to what they know. What they know is usually what landed them in prison.

It's time for sentences to be properly punctuated. A period at the end of a sentence means the end of that sentence. All states need a cap on criminal background checks. Ten years is a long time for one to stay drug-free and out of the courts. Ten years brings about self rehabilitation, clean thinking and sober behavior. We should be given the opportunity to live life along with the opportunity to work in whatever profession we choose and to attend the school of our choice. A crime I committed thirty years ago shouldn't dictate the way I can live today.
