The Seattle City Council is considering a resolution that would declare support for the Occupy movement; call on the city to review its banking practices to ensure our money is invested in banks that support our community; and declare the city's support for making the richest 1% pay their fair share in taxes.

This resolution is an opportunity for us to send Wall Street Banks and the 1% a strong message - we need jobs for the 99%, not cuts.

Support Responsible Banking

Greetings,

Dear Seattle City Council Member,

I urge you to support Seattle City Council resolution 31337. I support this resolution because it:

1. Declares support for the occupy movement as a legal expression of free speech.

2. Calls on the city to explore relationships with banks that are committed to investing in our City.

3. Urges the US Congress to support job creation and steer us toward recovery with fair and appropriate tax structure.

The 99% of Americans who pay our fair share expect forward-thinking leaders to rise to this occasion. Now is your chance to step up and lead the country in supporting the Occupy movement and getting our priorities back on track.

We’re looking to you to create a brighter future for every member of our community, not just the rich and powerful. I urge you to vote in support of Seattle City Council Resolution 31337.

Sincerely,

[Your name]
