The US Postal Service provides an invaluable service to the people and businesses of the United States, and interfaces with national postal services and private carriers around the world. Please remove the insane requirement that the USPS pre-fund retirement for employees not yet born, and requirements that stymie USPS innovation to respond to a changing environment.

The USPS is in the Constitution and should not to be replaced by private businesses that won't be more efficient than the Service is – as they currently are not.

Support legislation such as Barney Sanders' S 1853, or simply repeal The 2006 Postal Accountability and Enhancement Act (and follow-on legislation which has further worsened the situation). At the very least grant the USPS reasonable extensions of the unreasonable requirement to pre-fund retirement benefits.

Your urgent action is necessary.
