SAVE MAIN STREET

SAVE MAIN STREET
The Issue
The MAIN STREET TRANSPORTATION IMPROVEMENT FEASIBILITY STUDY proposes to change current traffic flow patters on Main and Center streets in Downtown Bloomington, eliminate traffic lanes on East and Madison streets (North/South Rt 51), narrow traffic lane widths, reduce traffic flow and traffic speeds, and introduce bicycle lanes on those North/South streets. This will create travel inefficiency, safety hazards for bicyclists and mortorists, and an unknown future financial burden on city taxpayers.
Therefore, We the People oppose any change in current traffic lanes, traffic flow patterns, and the introduction of bicycle lanes in Downtown Bloomington or the Route 51 Main Street Corridor as we recognize this as the main arteries for safe, timely and efficient access for travellers who frequent these routes.
Please sign the petition requesting the Bloomington City Council reject the MAIN STREET TRANSPORTATION IMPROVEMENT FEASIBILITY Proposal
