Crooked Run Orchard, a large community-centered farm in Purcellville, VA, is in danger of being gutted to make way for a bypass highway. (Learn more here.) The benefits of the proposed new road are dubious, and Crooked Run Orchard is worth saving. The orchard is more than just a farm but a true site of education and civic engagement. Each year, over 20,000 community members visit  the orchard for hay rides, apple picking, outdoor exploring, and education about agriculture and nature. And Crooked Run has donated over 15,000 lbs. of fresh apples to Bread for the City's food pantry, making them the most active participant in the innovative food rescue program Glean for the City.

Please reconsider the SCR

Dear Sir,

Please reconsider the plans to build the SCR through Crooked Run Orchard. The farm is an invaluable resource in our community and beyond. Every season, they host 20,000 people, who come to Purcellville to learn about agriculture and nature. These guests use Purcellville gas stations, resturaunts, and other businesses.

Not only that, but Crooked Run donated over 15,000 lbs. of apples to Bread for the City, the largest food pantry in Washington, D.C. Crooked Run has fed literally thousands of starving families over the past 2 years.

Crooked Run Orchard is worth saving. Please reconsider the location of this highway, and protect this cherrished community landmark.
