Why This Is Important

Our aspiration is that the photo-op will send a message to our nation and the world that line-drying is patriotic, beautiful, and should be encouraged whenever and wherever possible, helping to eliminate community bylaws and regulations that forbid line-drying, and leading to a direct increase in the practice of line drying by Americans.

The Desired Outcome of this Petition: To increase awareness and foster a meaningful public discussion around the merits and beauty of line-drying. To promote line-drying as a symbol of patriotism, intelligence, and environmental activism, rescuing it from the symbol of poverty and despair it seems to represent to many Americans today.
