Rich Central High School District 227 in Olympia Fields, IL is discriminating against young gay individuals. They are not allowing LGBT students to bring their partners to the prom and also are not allowing individuals to dress comfortably. As a female they will not allow you to attend unless you’re wearing a dress and males cannot attend without wearing a suit. You can't change your sexual orientation or how comfortable you feel in certain clothing. This teaches others that discrimination is right instead of letting the individual have an open mind. This is the students’ time to celebrate their achievements in school and this is not being allowed. I think the school isn't allowing same sex couples and cross dressing because they feel uncomfortable. But what's "uncomfortable" is watching a high school tell students that gay, lesbian, bisexual or transgender students aren't welcome at the prom. It is unconstitutional for the school to discriminate against these individuals. Please help with this movement because there are a lot of individuals that are losing their rights to be comfortable in their own bodies.
