In todays school system students are being repressed. Theyre creativity and unique characteristics are being starved. No longer are we told to use or imagination or be different but to roll over and conform in every way they ask us. It is my dream that one day students will be allowed to fully express themselves without fear of being in trouble with the administration. Whether it be in writing, speech, or a peaceful assembly of fellow students.
They need to be taught about the Constitution, and the origins of this nation. This is not going to happen in 2 weeks of class, and the majority of students dont even remember what it was they were taught. They should enjoy learning about the rights they posses as American citizens.
This isnt just for students either, adults should welcome the idea of gaining knowledge, because the majority of them A.) Dont know theyre rights, or B.) Dont know the correct way to use them. I fear that the lack of knowledge of our rights will diminish their power until one day theyre just a memory. Theyre constantly being restricted and disregarded and soon enough people will forget what truly makes them Americans. That is why i hope to increase the education and awareness of the Constitution as well has every citizens natural and individual rights, that our forefathers fought for hundreds of years ago.
