The recent Supreme Court decision to allow corporations free access to control the political process with unlimited campaign contributions is a frightening scenario for working Americans who still want a voice in their government. We must get corporate control out of government NOW. Tell President Obama and the Senate and the House that you won't accept anything less than an immediate rescinding of that law with a new one that establishes strict limits on the control any corporation can exercise on our government!
The Ill-Conceived Supreme Court Decision to GIve Corporations the Potential for Unlimited Control of
Dear Mr. President, Senators and Representatives of the People
We are appalled by the Supreme Court decision of January 21, 2010; which allows corporations to have the potential for unlimited control of our government through unlimited campaign contributions. We realize that a decision such as this one will limit the voices of the American people. We respectfully demand that this law be rescinded with the enactment of another set of laws that strictly limit the control corporations can exercise by strictly limiting corporate campaign contributions. The American people have a right to demand that our voices carry significant weight with our elected officials. We ask you to remember that our government is a government OF THE PEOPLE and BY THE PEOPLE and FOR THE PEOPLE. Nowhere in the Constitution of the United States does it say anything about corporations. Finally, we ask you to remember that Mussolini once defined fascism as "the unification of corporate and political interests." We implore you to ensure that this definition does not become a description of our own government in the early years of the twenty-first century. Please don't let our great country down by failing to act now.
