With each passing day, the website Topix becomes worse and worse. One of the reasons Topix has become a cesspool of cowardness and wickedness is because of Topix poor and unprofessional policies. Whenever the media goes after Topix, Chris Tolles claims the company is trying to stop all the libel and bullying, yet nothing ever changes. Many users have asked Topix to make it mandatory for all users to register for accounts with a valid email address. Tolles has claimed it wouldn't matter because users can use free email accounts like hotmail. This is simply a case of Topix thinking people are a fool. Registering for an account would cut down on some of the bullying and make it easier to ban users. It appears that Topix has no confidence in its users remaining with the site if they had to register. That in itself tells speaks volumes about the type of site Topix is. Using Chris Tolles argument, the answer is quite simple. In addition to signing up for an account, users should have to also submit a valid phone number and a passcode be sent to the user. Google does this with their email addresses.
