<p>Sea ice in the Arctic is disappearing as global warming causes climate change. <strong>Less ice will extend the shipping season, putting marine animals into more frequent contact with ships while they migrate.</strong> More shipping will also introduce invasive species and increase the risk of oil spills. <br /><br /><strong>Who's in danger? Beluga whales</strong> will be disturbed in the Bering Strait between Alaska and Russia where they share a narrow corridor with ships. <strong>Polar bear cubs and seal pups are also in particular danger </strong>from oil spills.<br /><br />In our fight against global warming, we need to take a preventative approach.
