3 million Vietnamese civilians, of which 150,000 are children, are currently suffering from exposure to dioxins deliberately released by US war planes during the Vietnam War. While US veterans suffering from exposure now receive $1500 a month, their Vietnamese counterparts only receive $5 a month. Considering America's fervent support of the Geneva Convention, it is only appropriate that the government compensates for the damage caused during this heinous war crime. The corporations involved should also not only compensate for their irreparable damage, but also face charges for their violations.
Provide reparations to Agent Orange victims in Vietnam
Greetings,
I just signed the following petition addressed to: US Government, Monsanto Corporation, Dow Chemicals, Diamond Shamrock (Valero).
----------------
I demand that the US government, Dow Chemicals, Diamond Shamrock, and any other companies proved beyond reasonable doubt to have been involved in Operation Ranch Hand, to provide reparations to those affected by dioxins in Vietnam from the Vietnam War. I also call upon all the parties aforementioned to provide funds for the regeneration of the ecosystem, i.e. the Vietnamese forest. $3 billion was pledged to this cause, but none of it has been invested in it.
According to the Vietnam Red Cross, 3 million Vietnamese people, of which 150,000 are children, are currently suffering from exposure to dioxins, such as Agent Orange, that were deliberately released by US war planes during the Vietnam War. Three generations have been severely affected by the poisoning, and the ecosystem is still struggling to recover. While US veterans suffering from exposure now receive $1500 a month, their Vietnamese counterparts only receive $5 a month. Considering America's fervent support of the Geneva Convention, it is only appropriate that they compensate for the damage caused during this heinous war crime.
I recognize that legal action has taken place since 1978, but I believe that financial penalties are not enough. I believe that any individual, group or organisation that was implicit in these war crimes should face the International Criminal Court.
On a final note, I demand that all the organisations mentioned above present a public apology with a promise to invest in projects to repair all damage caused by the dioxins.

Sincerely,
[Your name]
