Protect Women's Rights Organisations in the Tribal Regions of Pakistan
The Issue
A Pakistan grassroots NGO led by tribal women was targeted by a bomb blast at their office on 30th March, 2013.
SAWERA is a voluntary, not-for-profit organization dedicated to social and economic development.
Their work focuses on marginalized sectors of the local communities, especially women and children, in one of the most dangerous regions in the country.
But, because of lack of government protection, they are in constant danger from militants.
In July 2012, the organisation's co-founder Farida Afridi was murdered on the way to her office.
The work of organisations like Sawera is vital to helping improve peace and security.
But they need our support.
