Dear Animal Lovers:

It was recently brought to my attention that a certain puppy mill, who advertises the sale of “catch” dogs, is promoting their business on "Facebook".  Well some individuals have driven past the home of these dog breeders and what they found was shocking.  There are pit bulls tied down with ½ x 4’ boat anchor chains out front. When asked why such heavy chains were needed; the answer was so that the dog was forced to stay put.  Rochelle Hoven, later made the comment on her website,  "I LAUGHED AT FIRST AT ALL THE PHONE CALLS FROM THESE IGNORANT ANIMAL RIGHTS ACTIVISTS MY DOGS LOVE THEIR CHAINS & I JUST WISH ONE OF THEM HAD THE BALLS TO COME ON MY HILL I AM SICK OF THEM HARRASSING US ESPECIALLY ME BUT .... YOU WOULD THINK THEY HAD ANIMALS TO RESCUE BUT NO THEY WANT TO POST FAKE PICS THAT ARENT MINE ON THE ALA ASPCA & PRANK CALL ALL DAY ... ALL THE TIME THEY WASTE ON OUR PLACE THEY COULD BE VOLUNTEERING SOMEWHERE???"

An Animal Activist contacted this group and this is what the woman who sells these dogs stated, “If folks don’t leave me alone we’ll leave and these M***** F***ing dogs can rot on these chains!” Then she screamed something to the affect “this is none of our business!” Please take a look at this site.  The rest of the pups are hidden behind a privacy fence but the following site shows you pictures of the pups they are selling on chains:

Pit Bulls are sweet animals who deserve loving homes, not to be chained and neglected. They should not be used as "catch" dogs.  "A Catch dog is a specially trained dog that is used to catch large animals in hunting, working livestock, and baiting.[1][2] The use of catch dogs has been condemned by groups like PETA, who consider it cruel and inhumane.[6]"   The DogHouse on Facebook boasts of having pits for sale for the purpose of doing this. This needs to stop!  Please help stop this!

Many of us involved in spreading the word about this puppy mill and animal cruelty have been threatened by the authorities with harassment for posting phone numbers and addresses of the animal abusers.  For the record- the owner's of the 'The Dog House' posted their information on "Facebook" first. This site is publicly enabled for anyone to contact them.

Review laws to protect animals! Stop Puppy Mills and "Backyard Breeders"!

Greetings,

I just signed the following petition addressed to:

Owner of 'The Dog House', Rochelle Ann Marie Hoven, at 116 Hoven Hills, Jackson, AL 36545, phone number 251-275-5634, Facebook Site -
http://www.facebook.com/pa ges/The-Dog-House/193879684010302?sk=info The owner of 'The Dog House' is claiming to breed CKC registered dogs in addition to running a boarding and grooming business.

We have been unable to locate a business license, breeders license, or kennel license. In addition the CKC cannot confirm that these dogs are registered.

The police have been there and said everything is fine.

"2-123. KEEPING LARGE NUMBERS OF ANIMALS; SPECIAL PERMIT.

(a) No person or household shall own or harbor more than two dogs of six months of age or older or more than one litter of pups, or more than two cats of more than six months of age or more than one litter of kittens, or engage in the commercial business of breeding, buying selling, trading, training, or boarding cats or dogs or both cats and dogs, without having obtained a special permit from the governing body. The fee for such special permit, or any renewal thereof, shall be $100. Those persons who have received governing body approval to keep more than two dogs or more than two cats prior to the effective date of this ordinance shall be exempt from the requirement to pay such special permit fee, or any renewal thereof; provided, however, that this exemption shall no longer apply if a special permit is suspended or revoked as hereinafter provided.'

Please stop these individuals from causing any more harm these animals. Please ask that a "no tethering" law be placed, and the owner's license be revoked. Chaining an animal has been proven to cause behavioral/aggression issues in dogs. Caging and chaining dogs is no way for dogs to live. Profiting from the sales of these puppies is not right! I would like the police to investigate this further. Please shut this operation down!!

Sincerely,
