Protect the "Everglades of the West"

The new Agreement in Principle (AIP) unveiled in November 2008 by the Bush administration seeks to lock in policies that have led to massive fish kills and harmful agribusiness practices on National Wildlife Refuge lands.

The agreement is being sold as a dam removal deal, but could actually make the ultimate goal of a free flowing river harder to achieve. Even if the AIP resulted in dam removal, it wouldn’t happen until 2020 and we would be sacrificing other conservation values just to get the approval of a lame-duck Bush administration.
Use the letter form below to tell your elected representatives that Congress shouldn’t let Bush dictate Klamath Basin policy after he is out the door. Tell them that the Klamath Basin needs real balance.

Spread the word for Klamath birds

There are over one million birds that migrate through the Klamath Basin each year and every single one of them could use an advocate.
