Promote the use of technology to assist caregivers of children on the Spectrum

I pledge to...

<b>Give parents and educators a voice in the use of technology for autism.</b> &nbsp; Spread word of a unique, goal-directed collaboration linking parents, educators and administrators with the researchers exploring<em> <b>video-based instruction</b></em> for use with Spectrum Education.&nbsp;</p>
<p>Although VBI has been recommended for use with autism since 1971, it has only recently reached public awareness.&nbsp; Shortly, it will become ubiquitous.<b>&nbsp; </b></p>
<p><b>As a collaboration, this project will give all stakeholders a voice in determining how this technology will be used.&nbsp; </b></p>
<p><b>It will:<br /></b></p>
<p>Help educate the public about this technology and its application to Spectrum education</p>
<p>Provide information, training and support services enabling parents and schools to use it effectively</p>
<p>Establish a central clearinghouse to facilitate the search for people and sites providing practical information.&nbsp;</p>
<p>Create a data base enabling visitors to obtain a customized road map to facilitate their search</p>
<p>Connect all stakeholder groups: parents, educators, administrator, therapist, researchers and software publishers&nbsp;</p>
<p>Provide advice for coordination of home/school partnerships</p>
<p>Establish a social networking platform for mutual support &nbsp;</p>
<p>A large membership base will insure that every group is adequately represented</p>
